Meet Your Matchmaker, Sophie Kaemmerlé
Meet Sophie Kaemmerlé
I created Toi & Moi Matchmaking for accomplished women and BIPOC professionals who are ready to stop dating by trial and error and start approaching love with clarity, strategy, and self-trust.
My path to this work began with a very romantic idea of love. I grew up immersed in French culture, surrounded by stories that made love seem simple, pure, and almost inevitable. But when I entered the dating world — first in college in the South, then in New York — I realized love is not about chemistry. It is also shaped by identity, culture, timing, emotional patterns, and the choices we learn to accept.
As a woman of color, I also came to understand how deeply race and culture can shape dating experiences. Sometimes it shows up overtly. Other times, it is quieter: being exoticized, underestimated, misunderstood, or treated as almost right but not quite what someone imagined for themselves. Over time, those experiences can change what you believe you deserve, who you feel safe choosing, and how fully you allow yourself to be seen.
My approach focuses on alignment by combining high-touch matchmaking, strategic dating coaching, and culturally intelligent guidance grounded in psychology and social science. I help clients identify the patterns keeping them in low-fit connections, clarify what compatibility actually looks like for them, and date in a way that honors their ambition, identity, and lived experience.
Clients don't come to Toi & Moi simply for more dates. They come for better discernment, more intentional introductions, and a process that helps them recognize the kind of relationship that can actually last.
Because the goal is not to make yourself easier to choose. It is to choose and be chosen by someone who can meet the fullness of who you are.
“I’m a successful New York woman who figured out how to date intentionally in this broken market. Now I help men & women like me do the same.”
Why BIPOC professionals and high-achieving women?
BIPOC professionals and high-achieving women are not the same audience, and I don't treat them as interchangeable. But in dating, they often share a similar challenge: they've built lives with intention, depth, and ambition, while the dating market too often asks them to simplify themselves, lower their standards, or navigate advice that was never created with their realities in mind.
For these clients, compatibility isn't just about attraction, shared interests, or lifestyle overlap. It's about emotional safety, cultural understanding, aligned values, mutual respect, and the ability to be fully seen. That's why Toi & Moi approaches matchmaking and coaching through a lens that accounts for identity, ambition, race, gender expectations, family context, and lived experience — because those aren't side details. They shape who is actually right for you.
High standards in a low-fit dating market. Many accomplished clients aren't struggling because their standards are too high. They're struggling because too many dating environments reward speed, surface-level chemistry, and convenience over real alignment. My work helps clients turn high standards into clear criteria, better screening, and more intentional choices — so they're not simply meeting more people, but meeting people who make sense for the life and relationship they actually want.
Pressure and stigma. For many BIPOC professionals and high-achieving women, being single is rarely treated as neutral. It can come with family questions, cultural timelines, social comparison, and the quiet implication that success in every other area should have translated into partnership by now. That pressure can make dating feel less like discovery and more like catching up — which can lead people to second-guess their standards, over-explain their choices, or choose from urgency instead of alignment. Toi & Moi creates a discreet, intentional process that helps clients separate external expectations from genuine compatibility, so the search for love is guided by clarity rather than pressure.
Identity friction. Race, culture, ambition, gender, and visibility can all shape how people experience dating. Sometimes that means being misunderstood, exoticized, underestimated, or expected to shrink parts of yourself to be chosen. I don't ask clients to separate who they are from what they want. I use those realities to better understand what alignment, safety, and long-term compatibility actually require.
Dating advice that wasn't built for these realities. A lot of mainstream dating advice assumes a neutral dating market. It tells people to be more open, less intimidating, more feminine/masculine, more flexible, or less "picky" without asking what they've experienced or what kind of partner would actually honor the life they've built. My approach is different. I combine culturally fluent matchmaking with strategy-led coaching, helping clients date with more clarity, discernment, and self-trust without abandoning the parts of themselves that matter most.
The goal isn't to make you more broadly appealing. It's to help you become more precise about who is truly aligned with you and to create a process that brings those people closer.
Connecting Conscious Hearts
What you can expect when working with us:
Discretion at every stage. Your privacy is non-negotiable. Your profile, history, preferences, and personal journey are handled with the confidentiality and care you would expect from a trusted advisor.
Introductions with intention. We don't send matches to hit a quota. Every introduction is hand-selected based on a deeper understanding of your values, relationship goals, emotional needs, lifestyle, and cultural context — not just a checklist of preferences.
A strategy-led process. This is not matchmaking alone. We help you identify the patterns that may be keeping you in low-fit connections, clarify what true compatibility looks like for you, and approach dating with more confidence, discernment, and self-trust.
Cultural fluency. For BIPOC professionals and high-achieving women, dating is often shaped by identity, ambition, family expectations, race, visibility, and the pressure to be both exceptional and easy to love. We don't ask you to leave those realities outside the process. We use them to understand what alignment really means for you.
Respect for your time. You're busy, and your time matters. We manage the search, vetting, coordination, and feedback process so you can focus on showing up fully for introductions that have already been thoughtfully considered.
Ongoing calibration. The process doesn't end once an introduction is made. Post-date feedback, coaching, and refinement help us understand what's working, what isn't, and how to keep moving you closer to the kind of relationship you actually want.
Our Commitment to Your Journey
We're dedicated to helping you find a partner who doesn't just fit into your life, but makes it fuller, richer, and more meaningful. If you've built something you're proud of and you're ready to be as intentional about love as you are about everything else, Toi & Moi is ready to help you find your equal.
Join us, and let us help you find the extraordinary connection you deserve.
The Toi & Moi Difference
True compatibility goes deeper than shared interests, lifestyle overlap, or what looks good on paper. For accomplished professionals, the right match is not simply someone impressive — it is someone emotionally available, values-aligned, culturally aware, and capable of meeting the fullness of who you are.
Toi & Moi was created for people who have built something real in their careers, their communities, and their sense of self, and want a relationship with the same depth, intention, and integrity.
Our difference is not volume. It is precision.
We work with only six clients at a time because meaningful matchmaking requires more than access to a database. It requires time, discernment, and a deep understanding of your patterns, preferences, identity, lived experience, and long-term relationship goals. That level of care allows us to look beyond surface compatibility and focus on the kind of alignment that can actually last.
Where traditional dating services often focus on who is available, we focus on who is right for you.
